From
Creaky Knees to High Heels
In January I participated as a presenter at Diabetes
University,
an educational event hosted by the American Diabetes
Association. My subject addressed the
importance of good food choices in managing diabetes. Recently I
received this letter from an attendee.
Dear
Carolyn Guilford,
I had the pleasure of attending your talk at ‘DU’ in January,
and I want to thank you for the message you gave. It was so good I
even bought your book. “Health Restoration 101: Creating a healthy
lifestyle. From that time I’ve been a faithful reader of your column
in the Savannah Tribune, and I tell all my friends and really
anybody who is having health problems about you, so they can read it
too.
I thank you so much for the information you shared with us. I
have wanted for a long time to start a healthy program, but really
didn’t know what was right from what is hype. You were an awesome
speaker, and I left the seminar with a great boost of enthusiasm and
hope. I have been on the Health Restoration plan outlined in your
book for three month and two weeks, and I feel better each and every
day.
I had been diagnosed with asthma, arthritis, high blood
pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, and brittle bones. One doctor
said I was on my way to
dialysis. The doctors all said I needed to lose weight, and ‘eat to
live’. I didn’t know what that meant until I got you book. Did I say thank
you?
Now, I have so much energy, I can walk more. I joined the gym
at the hospital, and I go everyday. Now when I go upstairs my knees
don’t creak, and I’m not out of breath. My blood work comes back
better and better every time. I’m off the pain medicines and
cholesterol and asthma medicine, and only take one pressure pill,
and I’ll be off that one toll, after next month. The doctors said my
kidneys would not get any better, but they have. I’ve lost some
weight, and now I know I look great.
I didn’t want to loose too much just to get in better health.
Now I’ve got the confidence to wear high heels again and I can
really walk with my head up. I wear my hair and nails natural and
they are stronger and looking better, also.
Again, Thank You for helping so many
people and for sharing your passion for teaching good health habits
for the people who need to know the truth.
I Look forward to meeting you again, and attending another
one of your talks. In the meantime, I’ll keep telling people to read
your column and to get you book.
I pray the blessings of Heaven on you.
Emma V., Savannah, GA.
Dear
Ms. Emma,
I thank you so much for your kind
letter. It does my heart good to read letters like yours ( and I
have read it many times).
I have kept it on the wall in my office for the last several
weeks. Please give me another progress report in a few weeks.
Thanks for allowing us to publish the
letter. God bless you
as well.
Carolyn
