In this
country we are accustomed to waging wars against invaders.
Failing to recognize that diseases are not separate from the
person.
Today we know that every disease can be described as an expression
of the patient's lifestyle, beliefs, and energies. Cancer is not
just a tumor; it is a
systemic disorder that can only truly be cured by supporting the
whole body. The tumor is merely one physical expression of the
systemic disorder, and simply removing the tumor does nothing to
cure the disease. The body is designed to heal itself—given the
proper care—nutrition, the right supplements, spiritual and
emotional support.
The first
step in creating health is making a shift in thinking—creating a new
thought pattern regarding our relationship to our mind, body and
spirit. We have all read or heard something about changing our mind, but didn’t
know where to begin or how to follow through. For others this shift
might be comparable to jumping off a bridge. Let me tell you, no one
has ever died as a result of making this kind of shift—the results
are always better health, more energy, happiness and increased
faith. No matter what age you are, nor how ‘unhealthy’ your
condition, this change will create better health. The most effective
and powerful way to better health is to completely change everything
at once; the mind-set, emotions, nutrition, exercise, and the sense
of God In You, (some call it Spirituality).
I
understand that fear of the unknown holds most of us back from
making change. Many want to begin by making small changes, to see
how it will go. Still, making changes gradually eliminates the
immediate results we want to see. If you make changes gradually you
may not see results for several months. If you made changes on all
levels at the same time you can see results, often within a week.
Sometimes sooner. And life only gets better from that
point.
The third
step is a leap of faith—literally and figuratively—shifting your
belief on spirituality. How we think or feel about a Fact cannot change the
Fact. I believe
the point of religion is to recognize that there is a part of
ourselves that is not physical, and therefore, the need to explore
and experience this aspect of our selves. Part of the intent
is to discover our purpose, and to live the best life possible. Part
of that goal includes finding peace of mind, which is essential to
creating a healthy body and a healthy world. Peace of mind can
be attained through yoga, exercise, emotional healing ( forgiving )
and connecting to the inner-self. Spirituality is based on the
belief that every thing in the universe is power and
awareness.
What is
your awareness? Going within is the only way to find peace of mind.
Also, going within, creates a connection with the essence that is
greater than yourself. Spend time each day praying and connecting
with God; claim your power for
victory.
The
Fourth Step is making a --values and beliefs—shift. Remember
we are including the mind, body and spirit in the pursuit of health
because they are not separate. As we come to the end of this year,
we may need to re-access our personal values and beliefs. Take
inventory….What do you believe? A more important question
could be: “What do I want to believe?” If you aren’t deciding what
you want, someone else is. I can assure you that commercials and
advertising will influence what you believe. After taking inventory,
develop a plan to think and make your own decisions. Know that your
beliefs are your own, from your own thinking, not from some outside
source. You decide, it is by that decision you create your
future.
A
mind-set shift is also created by listening to the language you use,
the things you say, about yourself, others in your life, and about
the world you live in. Your life is created by your thoughts;
everything you think and say drives you toward that reality. For
example, if you say you are too old to change, you are. If you say
you can’t stop smoking, cussing, or eating certain things, then you
are right. That is what you will create. If you say, I am working
toward change, you will change. What you say is what you are
creating. And the universe will support you in what you say.
